Where every story is sacred

Welcome to Santos Books

Our Mission

At Santos Books LLC, our mission is to provide a welcoming and inclusive space for your story. Frederick Buechner was fond of saying that we are all saints and sinners. And he always wrote as if he was speaking to the saint in each of us, even if we didn't believe it ourselves. In providing this sacred space, our purpose is to lower the barriers between scholarly and non-scholarly writing, poetic and noetic, first-time and longtime writer.

Our Services

We offer a range of services to nurture your calling to write, from coaching as a developmental editor, to assessing your manuscript for publication, to walking with you through the publishing experience, and then helping to promote your book. We are currently coaching twenty authors in various stages of writing.  For a conversation about any of these services, please email Conrad L Kanagy at kanagy.conrad@gmail.com.

Our Books

Santos Books LLC is committed to providing a wide range of books that are nurtured by our work as an experienced writer, editor, and publisher. We do not assume that stories come to us "ready-made" but that our responsibilty is to help make the story. That is what Carey Newman did for me as a writer and is my hope is to give that gift to others. In other words, our goal is more gate-opener than gate-keeper. But each manuscript goes through a rigorous vetting process before acceptance.
